One of the many fitness options E3Sports offers is a boot camp class, designed for people of all ages and skill levels. When I teach the class, I make it simple enough for everyone to follow, but progressively challenging to make you sweat. The primary goal for the class is educate people on how to prevent non-contact injuries. We accomplish this by increasing mobility and stability of the joints, which allows for functional movement. This movement efficiency helps the class build a strong foundation from which we can focus on safely increasing the exercise intensity, specifically by utilizing speed, agility, power and cardio to evolve as athletes.
Growing up, I would go to the gym almost every day and it never felt like work. My main objective for any class I teach is for everyone to have a good time and enjoy themselves while they are there. I change things up every class to make it fun and challenging so they never know what to expect. We always have competitions during the session. Sometimes they are amongst each other and other times we work as a team to race against the clock. Most importantly, I want everyone to leave my class with a sense of accomplishment, a feeling that they were pushed to the limit and rose to meet the challenge. I trust that after a five-week class of intense workouts, everyone in my class will feel more confident on and off the field!
A quote I believe in is “Success is earned when preparation meets opportunity.” A boot camp class may be just the preparation you need for when that opportunity comes knocking.
