A Superband is an incredibly versitale piece of fitness equipment designed for long-lasting, heavy-duty use. It is like having the ulitmate lifesize rubber band to add a new level of difficulty to your workout. With the cold weather setting in, many athletes are moving their workouts indoors. These bands can withstand the same outdoor intensity and add resistance levels varying from 25 lbs to 300 lbs, depending on the thickness of the band. Storing a set of free weights starting at 25 lbs is not the most practical things for most people, forget about what a single 300 lb weight even looks like, but if you have a hook or a doorknob, you can easily store a Superband.
A lifesize rubber band does sound fun, but what can I really do with it?
The shorter answer may be what can’t you do with a Superband. You can:
- Use it in lieu of free weights for arm exercises by merely standing in one end of the Superband. You can do bicep curls, tricep extensions, and squats to overhead extensions just to name a few.
- If your push-ups are getting a little too easy, you can wrap a Superband around your shoulders and anchor it with your hands for a resisted push-up without trying to balance books or other objects on your back.
- If you live in one of those apartments with an exposed hot water pipe, put that to good use by tying one end of the Superband to the pipe and work on core strength or do leg drive exercises to build speed.
